Word VBA: Displaying the Review Pane

This Word VBA macro displays the review pane.

Macro Example

Sub DisplayReviewPane()

  ActiveWindow.View.SplitSpecial = wdPaneRevisionsVert

End Sub

Description

[Application.]ActiveWindow

  ActiveWindow...

The Application.ActiveWindow property returns a Window object that represents the active window.

obj-Word-Application-ActiveWindow

Because the Application.ActiveWindow property is a member of the Word.Global class, we can omit the Application property.

obj-Word-Global-ActiveWindow

ActiveWindow.View (Window.View)

  ActiveWindow.View...

The ActiveWindow.View (Window.View property) returns a View object that represents the view for the specified window or pane.

obj-Word-Window-View

View.SplitSpecial

  ActiveWindow.View.SplitSpecial...

The View.SplitSpecial property returns or sets the active window pane.

obj-Word-View-SplitSpecial

In this macro, I’m setting the const:wdPaneRevisionsVert.

obj-Word-WdSpecialPane-wdPaneRevisionsVert

So the review pane will be shown.

Sub DisplayReviewPane()

  ActiveWindow.View.SplitSpecial = wdPaneRevisionsVert

End Sub
